The Blue Jeans Go Green program, run by Cotton Incorporated, recycles denim into insulation, a portion of which is donated to Habitat for Humanity and selected other community buildings.

You can send in your denim by mail at the address given here (you pay for shipping). There are also occasional collection events, and you can check that web page to see if there is one happening near you. Contact them before shipping more than 100 pieces of denim.

Any type of denim is accepted including colored, printed, organic, and ripped or torn. Zippers, buttons, and other parts are fine, as they are removed in the recycling process.
