If you are not in Toronto, change your location to see appropriate tips.
Write “Return to Sender” on the front of the envelope, and send it as you would any other mail. Find your nearest mailbox with the USPS Find Locations tool (select “collection boxes”) or the unofficial but easier-to-use MailboxMap.
You should also write a short note (e.g. “Person does not live at this address”) and affix it to your mailbox. Telling your postal worker in person is a good idea too.
