Late November Waste events in Toronto area

I recently mentioned attending a screening of The Clean Bin Project, and am happy to see that it is showing again in the GTA, November 23, in Oakville.

November 25 is Buy Nothing Day, a great reminder that reducing how much waste is generated in the first place is by far the most effective practice. I would perhaps rephrase it as “buy nothing new,” but that doesn’t sound quite as strong. Our friends at Swapsity are hosting a film screening (Living Without Money), talk (with Shannon Simmons), and discussion.

November 26 is Shop Sustainable, a “pre-holiday eco-friendly swapping & shopping for Men and Women,” for clothing and accessories.

waste2wonder’s next office furniture and supplies giveaway event is November 30, and this time takes place at the excellent Evergreen Brickworks.

On an unrelated note, I had the pleasure of speaking last night to other volunteers at Live Green Toronto and it was great to hear all the questions, suggestions, and positive feedback. I really did feel the energy in the room of people excited about just how much easier Waste Nothing can make it to reduce waste.
